Lee Zenatti-Daniels
Role on committee (if applicable)? Club Treasurer. I have been the club treasurer since 2022. Essentially, I look after the club’s banking arrangements, income and expenditure and our annual accounts submission for the Charities Commission.
When did you start biking? Started 1983, and I've had a bike ever since.
How did you start biking? I first got into bikes when a mate at school brought in his bright orange Honda CG125. It was 1980 and I was hooked. I decided later, I had to get another bike and the Yamaha DT125 was very affordable and popular. I had to be different so bought a Kawasaki KE125. This would become a trend later. Then, I moved on to a Yamaha LC350 YPVS and swapped that for a Honda VF750F, (the one with the chocolate cams).
When did you join BAM? I joined BAM in 2016. It was the return to biking that actually sparked my interest in BAM. My earlier riding had been in Ireland and there was a noticeable difference in the amount of traffic on roads here so thought it would be beneficial to invest in some training.
Best things about BAM? I think what appeals to me most about our club is the camaraderie and the genuine willingness of members for us all to be better and safer riders. Moreover, I've made a lot of new friends and you can’t put a price on that
What Difference did joining BAM have on your riding/life? I can honestly say that club membership with observed rides, the comprehensive safety training, FMRs [Full Member Rideouts] and our Tours have all contributed to me being a more confident rider and have certainly made riding far more enjoyable.
Current bike(s): I took a break from bikes in the late eighties for about 20 years but came back to the fold with a series of Kawasakis, the last one being a ZZR1200.
I realised I couldn’t hack touring on it, so decided to swap it out for an adventure style bike. There were Tigers, V-Stroms and Versys’ everywhere but I had to be different so I bought an Aprilia Caponord 1200 which I kept for 7 years.
The Capo was a decent bike but I wanted a change. Early in 2024 looking around at the Ducati Multistradas, the various BMW GS models etc. I decided on an MV Agusta Turismo. Well, it’s different!
